We hope you’ve been able to browse through all the workshop reports and the final report of the 1st edition of the Academy and you’ve found some inspiring information.
If you still haven’t, don’t worry; we have all the workshop reports available on our Contributions subpage and Final Report available here.
Before the end of the year holidays, it’s time to share with you a short outlook to what is coming next.
The good news is: There will be a 2nd edition of the EAYW, and it will take place in autumn 2021, again in Slovenia, which will also hold the presidency of the European Union in the second half of that year.
The project partners have confirmed the relevance of further investigation, research and discussion of current trends and developments in the field of youth work and youth (work) policy, and the need to find out more about what innovation in the context of youth work can mean, and how innovative developments can create and promote more effective responses to the changing needs and interests of young people in ever faster changing social environments.
The 2nd edition of the EAYW should offer more space for reflection, deeper and more targeted discussions, put a stronger focus on linking practice and policy, and give more attention to the existing diversity of stakeholders and environments. We want to bring together main actors in the field from practice, policy and research, but also not forget the need to “look outside of the bubble” to gain new inspiration.
True, autumn 2021 is still far away. But we plan to start recruiting experts and contributions already in the course of next year, and to develop this website into a place for sharing knowledge around the topic of the Academy: innovation, current trends and developments in youth work and youth (work) policy – already well before the next event.
So stay tuned! The European Academy on Youth Work team wishes you a Merry Christmas season and a very happy and inspirational New Year!
