Webinars: Emerging trends and developments and their impact on youth work in Europe, March – September 2024
In the European Academy on Youth Work we want to support the professional development of youth workers and other professionals in youth work practice, policy and research. For this reason, we invited stakeholders from the youth work community of practice and related fields to a series of webinars called Emerging trends and developments and their impact on youth work in Europe.
These webinars were 2 hour long dynamic online sessions where the participants explored aspects related to futures thinking in youth work with other colleagues from different parts of Europe. During these sessions, several elements were covered: short and inspiring inputs by experts and interesting conversations with colleagues from other countries.

1st webinar: Futures of Youth Work – 21st March 2024, 10.00-12.00 CET
The first online event of the 3rd European Academy on Youth Work gathered actors in the youth field to hear about and discuss the first outcomes of the EAYW future foresight research, which started in autumn 2023 and explores the Futures of Youth Work.
2nd webinar: How Future-Ready Are You? – 18th April 2024, 10.00-12.00 CET
In this webinar, we looked into our relationship with the future and our current strategies to deal with the unknown.
3rd webinar: Looking Forward, Together – 12th September 2024, 10.00-12.00 CET
After two webinars and a very lively residential EAYW event in May, the Academy team shared the outcomes and key insights from the 3rd European Academy on Youth Work event that took place in May 2024 in Slovenia. We also looked into the strategies proposed by the Futures of Youth Work research team to deal with the unknown and use future-thinking in our daily work.

The webinars built on each other but were also conceived as stand-alone activities.
Like the 3rd EAYW residential event, Emerging trends and developments and their impact on youth work in Europe webinars were facilitated by Darko Markovic, Anita Silva and Sabrina Apitz. The insights gained during the webinars served as a basis for further discussions and learning processes during the residential 3rd EAYW 2024 event.
