Are you experienced in facilitating learning processes? Do you have a strong understanding of European youth work? Are you curious about innovation, future thinking and emerging societal trends? Do you have expertise in topics such as AI, mental health, youth rights, democracy, environment or conflicts? If you answered all of these questions with yes, then we invite you to apply to our call for facilitators for the Deep Dive Sessions that will take place as part of the 4th EAYW event, held from 5 – 8 May 2026 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia!
Responding to feedback from previous editions, the 4th EAYW introduces Deep Dive Sessions – six parallel thematic learning spaces running across three 90-minute sessions.
Each Deep Dive will bring together 20-30 participants who stay with the same theme over time, allowing for meaningful exploration rather than surface-level discussion. These sessions are designed as spaces of curiosity, dialogue and shared sense-making, connecting emerging trends with concrete youth work practice.
The six themes shaping the Deep Dive Sessions are:
Love, Youth Work & Robots – AI, Technology and Everything In Between
Tell Me How to Say Hello – Mental Health & Social Skills in the Era of ChatGPT
From TikTok to Real Talk – Youth Rights & Participation Beyond the Screen
Us, Them & the Nothing Inbetween – Youth Work in a Fragile Democracy
Environment & Climate Justice – Are We Rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic?
From Division to Dialogue – Supporting Young People in Times of Conflict
Each group will explore tensions, innovations, ethical questions and practices related to its theme, always grounded in the realities of youth work.
Up to 12 facilitators (working in pairs) will be selected to design and facilitate the Deep Dive Sessions. Facilitators will need to co-design and facilitate three interconnected sessions using dialogue-based methodologies, introduce inspiring inputs from other sectors such as research, innovation and case studies, and highlight concrete youth work practices while reflecting on their opportunities and limitations. They will support balanced participation and inclusive group dynamics, and harvest insights to accompany the group’s learning journey during all sessions.
If you have experience facilitating activities for diverse stakeholders in English within non-formal European youth work contexts or related fields, a broad understanding of key themes, structures and current developments in European youth work, and a strong interest in innovation and future-oriented thinking, we invite you to apply. Furthermore, if you also bring expertise in one of the Deep Dive topics, enjoy conceptual thinking combined with creative and participatory facilitation methods, and are ready to integrate into a larger event coordination team, we warmly invite you to apply!
Application deadline is 19 January 2026! Selected candidates will be informed by 26 January 2026.
