Considering the remaining uncertainties and risks linked to the still ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and their potential impact on the organisation and participation in larger-scale international activities during the coming autumn and winter, we have decided, with a heavy heart, to postpone the residential EAYW event. The new dates are Tuesday, 31st May – Friday, 3rd June 2022.

We would have loved to welcome you in Slovenia in November! The good news is: The EAYW will still happen as a residential event, only a bit later than planned. And: We are inviting you to use this period with us to jointly reflect and exchange online about the disruptions that everyone individually and the youth work field as a whole is experiencing at the moment so we can learn more about how to positively respond to this situation.

Webinars: Learning as a field in times of disruption and change

In the European Academy on Youth Work we want to support the professional development of youth workers and other professionals in youth work practice, policy and research, even in times of uncertainty, like the ones we are living today. For this reason, we are excited to invite you for a series of webinars we called Learning as a field in times of disruption and change

These webinars will be 2-hour long dynamic online sessions where you will explore the concept of Innovation in your practice with other colleagues from different parts of Europe. During these sessions you can expect: short and inspiring inputs by experts; interesting conversations with colleagues from other countries; and getting to know innovative practices in the field. Besides, there will be optional body activities, in case you feel tired of facing a screen all day. (We know we do :slightly_smiling_face:!)

Here are the topics we plan to cover:

  • 1st webinar: Innovation in times of disruption – November 4th at 10.00-12.00 CET
  • 2nd webinar: Recognising larger trends, seeing interconnections with youth work – December 16th at 10.00-12.00 CET
  • 3rd webinar: Rethinking innovation – what kind of innovator are you? – January 27th at 10.00-12.00 CET
  • 4th webinar: Cultures of innovation – March 10th at 10.00-12.00 CET
  • 5th: webinar: How to be future fit – April 21st at 10.00-12.00 CET

The webinars build on each other but are also stand-alone activities. Registration for the first webinar will open later this month.

Like the 2nd EAYW residential event, Learning as a field in times of disruption and change will be facilitated by Darko Markovic, Anita Silva and Laimonas Ragauskas. Insights gained during the webinars will serve as a basis for further discussions and learning processes during the residential EAYW event.

What happens to the current call and submitted applications to the 2nd EAYW residential event?

The call for applications to the 2nd EAYW remains open until 8th September as announced and participants will be selected on the basis of this call. As plans might change, all applicants will be contacted after the deadline, and selected participants again in January 2022, to reconfirm interest in participation at the new dates. The call might be re-opened in January for additional applications.
