Every journey into the future is better with a Companion.
The European Academy on Youth Work has launched the Companion for navigating innovation and futures thinking in youth work – a reflective resource created by the field, for the field. Drawing on learning from the Academy’s work between 2018 and 2025, the Companion brings together key messages, insights, and guiding questions to help youth workers, organisations, trainers, facilitators, policy actors, and networks explore how youth work can respond to change, uncertainty, and emerging futures.
Rather than offering ready-made answers, it invites:
- reflection
- dialogue
- collective sense-making
It can be used in team meetings, training settings, organisational development, and youth policy discussions to question assumptions, spark debate, and clarify what youth work may need to strengthen, safeguard, transform, or let go. The resource is also available as a card deck for interactive sessions and participatory reflection.
