looking for an experienced expert – or a team of experts – to carry out an impact study exploring the contribution the EAYW has made to the development of youth work in Europe.

Illustration of 7 people hugging each other and waving.Since 2019, the EAYW has brought together youth work practitioners, trainers, researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders through residential Academy events, webinars, studies and educational resources. At the heart of its work are innovation and future orientation in youth work, creating spaces for learning, reflection, exchange and collaboration across practice, policy and research.

Now, after four editions of the European Academy on Youth Work and several years of activities, the EAYW wants to look beyond individual evaluations and explore its wider and longer-term impact: How have participants used what they learned? What happened with the contacts, ideas, tools and resources they took away? And how has the EAYW contributed to embedding innovation and future-oriented thinking in youth work across Europe?

A big magnifying glass showing a piece of paper where there is a green arrowThe study should explore how participants have used the learning, contacts, tools and resources gained through EAYW activities, how EAYW resources have reached the wider youth work community, and what impact the Academy has had on the field. It should also provide recommendations for supporting innovation and future-oriented youth work in the future.

The selected expert should have experience in impact or evaluation studies, knowledge of the European youth work context, experience with surveys, focus groups and interviews, and excellent English writing skills.

The assignment is expected to start in September 2026, with the final report due by 31 January 2027.

Applications should demonstrate the applicant’s motivation, relevant knowledge and experience in relation to the study and the required expert profile. Selection will be based on the applicants’ competencies and suitability for the assignment. Applicants will be informed about the selection by 4 September 2026.
