We are excited to announce the launch of the Futures of Youth Work Toolbox – a new resource designed to help youth workers, organisations and policy makers engage with futures thinking in a practical and creative way.

This Toolbox builds on the research carried out within the Futures of Youth Work project, which explored possible trends and scenarios for youth work all the way to 2050. Rather than predicting the future, the research offers different scenarios, questions and insights that invite us to reflect on where youth work might be heading – and how we can prepare for it.

The Toolbox takes this a step further by offering concrete tools that can be used in workshops, training courses, team meetings or policy discussions. Inside the Toolbox, you can find different activities that could be interesting for you or your team and they include:

  • frameworks and models to guide futures thinking;
  • exercises and conversation starters to support reflection;
  • games and interactive activities that make exploring futures scenarios engaging and creative.

The Toolbox is available online and designed for easy use. By navigating through the visuals on the page, you can select a tool that fits your needs. Each tool supports you in working with futures perspectives by scanning signals of change, imagining alternative scenarios, or reflecting on what these shifts might mean for young people and for youth work.

Most importantly, the Toolbox is a source that will be further expanded . More tools and activities will be added over time, so we invite you to come back regularly or follow our social media channels for updates!

So, explore the Toolbox, try out the tools, and bring futures thinking into your own practice. And of course – let us know what you think!
